About the client
CIfA is the leading professional body representing archaeologists working in the UK and overseas. The Institute promotes high professional standards and strong ethics in archaeological practice to maximise the benefits that archaeologists bring to society. CIfA is the authoritative and effective voice for archaeologists.
The client approached us to help improve their marketing communications to members and other stakeholders in the run up to their change to Chartered status in late 2014. They have also appointed us to manage their external relations in 2015 and to offer general marketing support.
What we've done
We developed a marketing communications strategy and plan collaboratively with the head office team, that is now being implemented.
Part of this was to create a new visual identity which can be seen on the right of this page and on the Institute's website. We consulted widely and looked at the competitive landscape and peer organisations before presenting a range of options designed to create a more contemporary, forward-looking identity. This has now been rolled out across the organisations, including geographic and special interest groups.
Our external relations work for CIfA is focused on improving the Institute's profile and channelling their key messages to audiences outside their immediate sector, including co-professionals, client groups, the media, and other stakeholders. We are doing this by securing coverage in print publications and online, through social media, events, CPD, joint initiatives and knowledge transfer.
